The 27-year-old was competing in the 100m hurdles at the World Championships but failed to finish after losing her balance and clattering head-first into a hurdle at full pelt. Medical volunteers and paramedics rushed to meet her in the middle of the track and the morning session was delayed for almost 10 minutes as her head was secured through fear that she suffered a spinal injury
